About me
I am Camilla Chiara Wisniewski, a dedicated sports nutritionist and biologist with a lifelong passion for basketball and athlete development. My journey bridges competitive sports and scientific expertise, enabling me to empower athletes through evidence-based nutrition strategies.
Educational Background
I hold a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Sports Sciences from the Università Statale degli Studi di Milano, which I completed in 2024. Prior to this, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Food Sciences and Gastronomy from Università Telematica San Raffaele – Rome. My academic journey has equipped me with a robust understanding of the intricate relationship between nutrition and athletic performance, emphasizing evidence-based practices.
Professional Experience in Basketball
Basketball has been at the heart of my life since childhood. As a former semi-professional player, I competed in Serie B during the 2016-2017 season, where I had the privilege of participating in the playoffs with my team. Despite a severe anterior cruciate ligament injury that halted my playing career, I continued to foster my passion for the sport by becoming an assistant coach, focusing on nurturing young talents and instilling in them the values of discipline and teamwork.
- ISAK Level 1 Certification: This qualification underscores my expertise in anthropometric assessment, enabling me to analyze body composition metrics crucial for tailoring nutrition strategies to optimize athletic performance.
Research and Practical Experience
In 2024, I successfully completed an external internship with a Serie A2 men’s basketball team based in Vigevano. This experience allowed me to:
- Collaborate with coaches and medical staff to develop nutrition strategies.
- Collect and analyze dietary data to support player performance and recovery.
- Gain hands-on experience in integrating nutrition plans within an elite sports environment.
As part of my academic journey, I conducted a groundbreaking experimental thesis focused on “The Role of Tailored Nutrition in Enhancing Recovery Times for Competitive Basketball Players.” This research combined practical insights from my internship and scientific methodologies, culminating in actionable recommendations for athletes and sports organizations.
