To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to introduce myself. My name is Chris Haddock and I am the owner/operator of Elite Insight Psychology. I am an endorsed Sport & Exercise psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. I hold a Masters of Applied Psychology (Sport and Exercise); Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Bachelor of Education. I am also a PR6 Resilience coach and Red2Blue Coach with a focus on performing under pressure. I have been an endorsed sport and exercise psychologist for a number of years and have valuable experience with elite, semi-elite and youth athletes. I am currently seeking appointment in a role that will utilize my unique background and allow me to continue to expand my skill set. I was invited to the Beyond the Game Conference coordinated by the Chad Robinson Foundation to present on athlete mental health and wellbeing. Further to this I was involved in a panel discussion focused on the future of psychological practice in the field of athlete mental health and wellbeing.
My psychology experience has been gained through employment in clinical, high performance and forensic fields. I am currently engaged as a sport and general psychologist with the Gold Coast Super Clinic Physiotherapy team, a role that entails specialised and articulated evidenced based Psychological treatment programs for community based primary contact agencies. My current role includes, but is not limited to clients presenting with mental health diagnoses, addictive behaviours, trauma, suicidal behaviours, and Employee Assistance Programs. In addition, from a sport/ performance psychology perspective I currently consult to a number of sporting organisations including AFL Queensland, the South Australian Sports Institute and International Sports management organisations.
Prior to my commencement with Gold Coast Super Clinic Physiotherapy, I secured full-time employment with the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) engaging with their development squads from under 15 years to the current men’s (SA Redbacks) and women’s (SA Scorpions) state teams. This involved engaging with the high-performance managers of the respective teams and promoting a range of mental skills strategies, as well as health and well-being activities across the various teams. In addition to working with SACA, I have been engaged by the Royal Adelaide Golf Club, West Adelaide Football Club and South Australian Baseball Association amongst others to provide sessions on performing under pressure, mindfulness, performance anxiety, team values, self-belief, self-talk, visualisation, and many other mental skills strategies.
My experience within the forensic field was gained through appointments at both a correctional centre and youth detention centre in Queensland. These roles required offender assessment and intervention using evidence-based tools, completion of risk assessments and management strategies and participation in program facilitation. An aspect of my role was also to identify factors contributing to criminogenic patterns and determine recommendations for offending based programs. My previous experience in the education field enhanced my ability to develop and administer appropriate intervention packages.
To assist with my application, I have attached a copy of my Curriculum Vitae.
I would be happy to provide further information on request and can be contacted on 0417 403 129 or by email at chris.haddock@eliteinsightpsychology.com.au at any time.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully
Chris Haddock
