About the Role 

The AFLW High Performance Manager is responsible for ensuring that individual athlete and team performance requirements are continually developed and maintained to an AFLW level.

Responsibilities

  • This role manages a team who will be responsible for delivering the overall conditioning program including, but not limited to, competition training, rehabilitation and coordinates the Clubs allied health professionals.
  • Create and implement comprehensive high-performance programs for pre-season, in-season, and off-season phases;
  • Design and launch innovative initiatives aimed at optimising athlete performance and preparation;
  • Coordinate the implementation of high-performance programs in alignment with coaching strategies;
  • Monitor, assess, and manage player workloads, physical performance, and overall athletic development;
  • Integrate injury prevention strategies, strength and conditioning, rehabilitation, and nutrition plans in collaboration with medical personnel;
  • Cultivate a collaborative environment for effective player management and athlete rehabilitation, working closely with medical staff, physiotherapists, and strength and conditioning coaches.

About You 

  • Post Graduate qualifications in Exercise Science or similar field;
  • Associate L2 ASCA accredited coach as a minimum;
  • Demonstrates elite level knowledge across sports management, exercise science, performance psychology, medical services and rehabilitation;
  • Demonstrated experience leading a multi-disciplinary team is preferable;
  • Ability to build strong relationships within the staff and playing group.
