Seattle Reign FC is a prominent professional women’s soccer team competing in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Coach for Reign FC is a pivotal role within the First Team Coaching staff, responsible for supporting the Head Coach in all aspects of team preparation and performance. This position focuses on the holistic development of players through individualized coaching plans that enhance their technical, tactical, physical, and psychological capabilities. The Assistant Coach will leverage video analysis, performance data, and scouting reports to drive informed decision-making and optimize team strategies.
In addition to on-field responsibilities, the Assistant Coach serves as a leader and mentor within the coaching staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. This role also plays a key part in the club’s community engagement efforts, actively participating in outreach programs and helping to nurture the next generation of soccer talent.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with the Head Coach to design and implement individualized development plans for players, focusing on technical, tactical, physical, and psychological growth to maximize their potential and contributions to the team.
- Support the technical and tactical components of all NWSL pre-season, regular season, tournament, international friendly, and other matches. Assist with preparing for technical and tactical components of all NWSL Team matches, including development of match-specific, situational, and player-specific strategies. Supervise the scouting of opposing teams and players.
- Utilize video analysis, performance data, and advanced scouting techniques to inform strategic decisions and enhance player and team performance.
- Act as a mentor and leader within the coaching staff, fostering a positive and competitive environment that encourages continuous learning and improvement among both players and coaching staff.
- Enforce Club Rules and League Rules applicable to the Club’s players and/or coaching staff.
- Together with Club Technical Leadership, foster, develop, and manage an inclusive culture consistent with the organizational values and community commitments of Reign FC.
- Participate in promotional, sponsorship, and public relations activities, including but not limited to match day promotions, clinics, speeches, interviews, photo sessions, public appearances, sponsor activities, and participating in television, radio, and internet programs featuring the Club.
- Participate regularly in volunteer and community activities in support of Reign’s social impact.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- USSF “B” License
- Experience in coaching soccer at a professional, collegiate, or high-level youth level.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive, cross-functional relationships within an organization.
- Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to effectively present information.
- A strong sense of self-awareness and emotional intelligence.
- An understanding of the pressures and commitments required for youth players involved in high level youth soccer (or other elite youth sports development awareness).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when privy to sensitive information.
- Demonstrate a willingness to further personal knowledge and development.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) or Multi-Lingual a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This is an in-person position working from Starfire Sports Complex and Lumen Field.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Must reside within Washington state upon date of hire.
- Must be able to facilitate own local travel.
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.
- Responsibilities include regular work outdoors and may require standing on feet for long periods of time, as well as some lifting of up to 20 pounds.

The annual salary range for this position is $100,000 – $150,000. Base pay at time of offer will take into account job-related knowledge, skills and experience required for the role, internal equity and market.
