The University at Albany, Department of Athletics is seeking an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach.
The position will be primarily responsible for Women’s Basketball, Softball, Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and assist with Football.
The Candidate
Must be able to design and implement periodized, evidence-based, sport specific programs for all teams. Ability to assess and evaluate each athlete’s movement and program individual needs to improve physical development; help reduce injuries; and enhance athletic performance. Demonstrate a strong passion and energy to help motivate student-athletes. Current knowledge of the latest trends and technology to track student-athlete progress. Must adhere to all policies, procedures, and regulations of the university, America East Conference, and the NCAA. Willing to perform administrative duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance. Must have a positive coaching style and willingness to work and to invest the needed time to develop the student-athlete, which will include long hours and weekends. Professional attributes needed for position include great communication skills with administrators, sport coaches, student-athletes, sports medicine staff, as well as other strength coaches. Proficient organizational skills and detailed documentation abilities are a must. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in exercise science or related field. Current CPR/AED/FA certification, current NSCA and/or CSCCa certification. Work experience as a strength coach in collegiate or professional athletics for 1 year required.
Preferred requirements
Master’s Degree with experience designing and implementing strength programs for 2+ years at the NCAA Division I Level. Experience working with college basketball.
