We currently have an opportunity for a First Team Senior Physiotherapist to join our Medical Department based at our training ground at Thorp Arch, Wetherby. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a proven track record of working in an elite sporting environment. Reporting to the Head Of Medicine, the role will deliver physiotherapy services including assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to First Team players.

  • Provide assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to all first team players.
  • Undertake regular maintenance of non-injured players in the build-up to training each day.
  • Create injury plans for injured players under your care to effectively communicate the planned outcome objectives to both the player as well as the MDT.
  • Lead on the day-to-day management of injured players under your care.
  • Create post injury summaries for each injured player under your care for the benefit of ongoing learning and in the development and improvement of current injury protocols.
  • Assist in developing evidence-based protocols for the Medical Department, using all available resources including the latest research and collaboration with clinical specialists.
  • Provide emergency First Aid cover for First Team training sessions and matches as required.
  • Maintain detailed medical records for players ensuring complete medical confidentiality within the scope of practice at all times.
  • Accompany first team players to medical appointments as required.
  • Liaise with all members of the MDT to ensure effective collaboration and treatment.
  • Contribute to the in-house continual professional development program, to knowledge share across First Team & Academy staff.
  • Maintain all legal and professional qualifications required by the role and keep up to date with and satisfy all professional regulations.




  • Minimum of 5 years experience working in First Team professional football or elite professional sport.
  • BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy
  • Evidence of an extensive and structured CPD portfolio – including post-graduate qualifications, showing a range of different clinical skills
  • Member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (MCSP)
  • Advanced Trauma Medicine Management In Football (ATMMiF) Qualification.
  • FA Safeguarding Certificate
  • FA DBS Certificate
  • Full current driving licence


  • MSc (or equivalent) in Sports Science, Sports Rehabilitation or Sports Medicine
  • Post graduate training in advanced manual therapy
