Ipswich Town Football Club is looking for a First Team Strength & Conditioning Coach to assist in the operational delivery of strength and conditioning services to the club’s First team and Academy.

Your main duties will be to:

  • Design First Team, U18 and U21 athletic development sessions.
  • Coordinate and complete physical testing for all the First team, U21 and U18 collaboration with sport science department.
  • Lead monitoring of all First team, U21 and U18 players every match day -1 and match day +2 and report data to all stakeholders.
  • Deliver gym-based rehabilitation sessions in conjunction with medical staff or as directed insuring modalities and loads are appropriate to the phase of training for First team, U21 and U18 players.
  • Deliver pitch-based speed and agility sessions for all PDP goalkeepers in collaboration with the Academy Head of Goalkeeping.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with the Head of Academy Sports Science & Medicine and other Academy and First Team Sports Science & Medicine staff as appropriate.

Who are you?

  • You will have a post-graduate qualification in Strength & Conditioning or Sports Science.
  • You will have experience of working within an elite high-performance sports environment.
  • You will have appropriate accreditations (e.g. UKSCA, NSCA, BASES) or you are willing to work towards.
  • You will have excellent communication skills, both written and oral and be confident communicating and building rapport with players and staff.
  • You will be able to multitask and assist other colleagues when needed.
  • You will be comfortable in a busy, fast paced environment.
  •  You will have a strong willingness to learn a range of new skills and build on existing abilities.
  • You will be organised, able to meet deadlines and keep calm under pressure.
  • You will be outgoing, enthusiastic and passionate about your work.
