Job Description

Join Our Team at A.B. Paterson College!

A.B. Paterson College is looking for a professional, dedicated, and enthusiastic Strength and Conditioning Coordinator to join our Team in January 2025!

The Strength and Conditioning Coordinator is a non-teaching role and requires strong administrative and organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.  An ability to develop a strong rapport with the students at the College is essential.

The Strength and Conditioning Coordinator will be involved primarily in the College’s co-curricular program within the Associated Private Schools (APS) and work in support of the Health and Physical Education (HPE) program where required. The Strength and Conditioning Coordinator will be expected to review and develop systems that professionalise and develop the Strength and Conditioning offering at A.B. Paterson College. Coaching expertise in any of the APS sports is desirable.

In addition, the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator would lead the implementation of the NFL Academy’s Strength and Conditioning program alongside the broader NFL Academy team. Although knowledge and experience working in the sport of American Football is desirable, it is not essential. The Strength and Conditioning Coordinator will be expected to collaborate with the NFL and NFL Player Health and Safety teams to develop and implement an effective program for NFL Academy student-athletes enrolled at A.B. Paterson College.

This position will require a level of flexibility with early mornings, afternoon and potentially operating a split shift to assist with the planning and implementation of training programs – working hours will be subject to negotiation.

This role is Full-Time commencing in January 2025.

About Us:

A.B. Paterson College is more than just a school; it’s a community dedicated to developing young men and women of character – leaders now and for the future. Established in 1991 and named after the legendary Australian poet Banjo Paterson, we pride ourselves on providing an exceptional learning environment that inspires students to reach their full potential.

A.B. Paterson College partners with industry leaders to inspire students and staff to reach higher, dream bigger, and create a world-class educational legacy. This year College students have travelled across Australia for golden opportunities in the Arts, including our Year 7-9 choir who experienced the Festival of Outback Opera while staying at Barty’s Place – a College-built student accommodation and dining facility located in the heart of the town of Winton. Students were provided a unique experience into the Festival, courtesy of the College’s supporting partnership with Opera Queensland.

Meanwhile, A.B. Paterson College also announced a landmark partnership with the National Football League (NFL) to open the NFL Academy on College grounds – with the biggest sports league in the United States being drawn to the school’s strong academic record and leading educational infrastructure.
