Performance Research Lab Asst. and Performance Coach – Olympic Sports

Co-Appointment by Athletics/Health and Human Performance Lab – Sport Science

Entry Level Applied Sports Science & Performance Coach. Registration in the Master’s Program with a focus on the Thesis Track or Internship Track.

About the role

Serve as an assistant in all aspects of running the Health and Human Performance Lab which includes data acquisition in Motion Capture, DEXA, YBT, Force Plate, data input, data analysis, and presentation of findings. In addition, the assistant will be responsible for the Applied Science and Performance for East Texas A&M Division 1 Olympic sport teams. The role will include organization and implementation of Performance Lab testing, as well as constructing and implementing team lifts for athletic teams. Team responsibilities will be dependent on candidate qualifications and experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in HHP Lab duties under the guidance of Dr. Michael Oldham
  • Facilitate Research Coordination and operation of lab equipment under the guidance of Performance lab staff
  • Assistant Olympic Sports Performance Coach
  • Construct/Facilitate lifting segments for team
  • Communicate with JP Deste regarding weekly/monthly schedules

Candidate requirements

  • Acceptance into Master’s Program in Sports Science and Data Analytics (SSDA) or Health, Kinesiology, and Sport Science (HKSS) and registration in classes as a full-time graduate student
  • CSCS or CSCCA certification (attained or in progress)
  • CPR/AED Certification & First Aid Certification
  • Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science or Data Science
