As Performance Medicine Therapist / Assistant Athletic Trainer your work is critical to supporting the maximization of our players physical health and availability by supporting injury management pathways, return to basketball and illness prevention strategies.

Working with a multi-disciplinary staff, you will create, participate, and support processes and systems that encourages physical health and challenges player potential.

What You Will Do:

  • Providing in-season execution of therapeutic exercise based prevention program and treatment of player injuries, including delivery of manual therapy (Valley Suns players)
  • Perform athletic training services such as preventative treatment, taping, bandaging, and acute injury/illness care for athletes during training and games
  • Support the design and implementation of early stage injury rehabilitation, on-court functional basketball rehabilitation, and movement efficiency assessment and corrective exercise programs to/for Valley Suns players
  • Assist Valley Suns Head Athletic Trainer in preparing the team for practice and games
  • Assist Valley Suns Head Athletic Trainer with inventory management, team nutrition, travel/packing of medical equipment, and league forms (OSHA)
  • Assist in maintaining the general cleanliness and organization of the training room, hydrotherapy area, massage room, and performance space
  • Manage and upload all medical records, medical tests, and injury/rehabilitation information related to players to the League’s electronic medical record system (ARMS)
  • Assist Phoenix Suns Human Performance Staff with player care and Performance team logistics during Summer League, Open Gym, Training Camp, Draft Workouts, Free Agency medicals and selected practice sessions during season
  • Supporting the collection of physical performance and testing data in conjunction with the Valley Suns Lead Physical Performance Coach, and proving input to the determination of performance insights

  • Number of re-injuries, and man days lost to preventable injuries
