The Ottawa Charge is a professional women’s ice hockey team competing in the Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL). As one of the league’s six original charter franchises, the team features a red, gold, white, and storm-grey color scheme.

Team History & Rebranding

Originally known as PWHL Ottawa during its inaugural 2023–2024 seasons, the team officially adopted the “Charge” moniker before the 2025–2026 season. The name pays homage to the city’s motto, “Advance—Ottawa—En Avant,” and also celebrates Ottawa’s historical status as the first Canadian city to have its streets completely lit by electricity.
