The Sydney University Cricket Club is in search of an Assistant Cricket Coach commencing preseason 2026/27.
Applicants must live in Sydney and be within easy travel distance to the Camperdown University of Sydney Campus.
Qualifications and Experience
- Level 2 Cricket Australia Coaching Accreditation
- Experience in 1st Grade Cricket, either playing and or coaching in Australia
- Must show a passion for the game at Club level in NSW.
- Ability to work well in at team environment whilst also displaying good communication and planning skills.
Role Description
Coaching
- Reports to the Director of Coaching (DOC)
- Assist and implement the Club’s coaching program across the various grades during Club training sessions as directed by the DOC
- Be available to run warmups on selected match days
- Plan and deliver structured pre-season training, in-season training and player reviews.
- Ensure training is organised, purposeful, and aligned to performance outcomes.
- Communicate clear expectations and standards.
Player Development
- Support the development and progression of players across all grades.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and guidance to players and staff.
- Contribute to the development and tracking of players.
- Support progression through grades and representative pathways.
- Identify and develop emerging leaders.
Recruitment and Retention
- Contribute to the recruitment and retention of players aligned to the needs of the Club.
- Assist in building depth and continuity across the playing group and coaching program.
Skills and Capabilities
- Must be a proactive easy to work with member of the Coaching Team
- Promote a positive, inclusive, Club environment
- Strong technical and tactical understanding of cricket
- Effective communication and relationship management skills.
- Strong problem solving attributes.
