PLC Sydney is seeking a motivated, junior-style Assistant Strength & Conditioning Physical Performance Coach to join our collaborative Sports Department.

This role is perfectly suited for a developing coach who is passionate about youth athletic development and wants to gain hands-on experience in a premier school setting.

  • Schedule: 3 days per week (9 hours total).
  • Hours: 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm (Afternoon sessions).
  • Duration: Term time only (Position is stood down during non-term periods).
  • Remuneration: Competitive salary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver structured S&C programs for Year 7 and 8 athletes, focusing on movement competency, physical literacy, and Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) principles.
  • Lead the Year 7 Fitness Centre induction program, ensuring all students are educated on safe equipment use, correct exercise techniques, and training fundamentals.
  • Provide high-level supervision of the High-Performance Training Facility during after-school sessions to ensure a safe, professional, and organised environment.
  • Deliver staff fitness inductions and structured wellbeing sessions (as required) while collaborating closely with the Head of S&C to align with the College’s broader performance framework.

Skills and Expectations:

  • ASCA Level 1 Accreditation (or actively working toward Level 2).
  • A minimum of 3 years of practical coaching experience in S&C or youth development; specific experience working with female athletes is highly regarded.
  • A strong understanding of exercise progression for junior athletes and the ability to coach foundational movement patterns effectively.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deal respectfully with staff, students, and parents.
  • A willingness to support the Christian ethos and aims of the College.
  • A current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and valid First Aid/CPR qualifications are essential.
