Job Description

Derby County are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative individual as a First Team Physiotherapist to join our First Team Medical department at Moor Farm Training Centre.

The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team focusing on providing effective and robust treatment and prevention programs aimed at maximising player physical capabilities. This position is suited to an individual looking to make their way in a first-team environment and learn and develop as part of a larger Medicine and Performance Team.

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and develop physiotherapy provision for first team players at Derby County Football Club
  • In combination with other members of the MDT, develop and monitor rehab programmes for injured players
  • Provide soft tissue therapy to first team players
  • Contribute to the testing and benchmarking of first team players
  • Plan, deliver and review preventative strategies for players that are aligned with the player’s individual needs and are based on objective criteria
  • In conjunction with the MDT, help support athletic development and performance of all players
  • Maintain accurate and contemporaneous medical notes for all players in line with professional standards
  • Contribute to and engage with in-service training and CPD sessions
  • Liaise with the Medicine and Science Lead, the lead Physio and the Club Doctor regarding any player issues and potential progressions of treatment or preventative strategies
  • Uphold and promote adherence to all professional and sport-specific regulations and standards, and ensure all treatment is ethical and legal
  • If required, to provide emergency medical provision at training and matches in line with current EFL and FA guidelines, ATMMIF trained

Personal characteristics and experience:

  • Previous experience working with elite athletes is essential
  • At least two years of post-graduate experience is essential
  • Experience in developing and implementing innovative ideas and putting them into practice is desirable

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Undergraduate Degree in an appropriate subject
  • Registration with appropriate professional bodies, including CSP and HCPC
  • ATMMIF trained

Salary is competitive, dependent on experience.

This is a full-time role, and due to the demands of professional football, there is a requirement for weekend and evening work, as well as regular national travel.
