Department: Academy Analysis Department
Location: Poolfoot Farm and Leisure Complex
Reports to: Head of Academy Analysis

Hours of Work:
As required and dictated by the Head of Academy Analysis, balanced with the commitments of a part-time Master’s degree. There is an expectation in the position to work evenings and weekends.

To qualify for this position, you must meet the minimum requirements to complete a Master’s degree / Master’s in Sports Coaching and/or Performance Analysis.

Job Description

Fleetwood Town are advertising an exciting opportunity for a person to undertake the position of Analyst Intern. This role will be completed alongside and in support of completion of a fully funded Master’s Degree at one of our partner Universities.

You will be part of a progressive Academy with a proven recent history of developing young players to compete in professional football through all levels of the football pyramid as well as play regular fixtures with the First Team.

You will be based at the £10 million training facility at Poolfoot Farm where we are currently expanding and building an indoor facility.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Support and deliver analysis sessions in line with the Academy Analysis Programme for the Foundation Phase, Transition Phase and Youth Development Phase.
  • Capture and code fixtures across the Foundation Phase, Transition Phase and Youth Development Phase in line with the club’s coaching programme.
  • Liaise with coaching staff to prepare concise pre-match presentations which consolidate topics in the coaching programme.
  • Create a library of best practice and goals throughout the season using HUDL and SportsCode.
  • Film training sessions when requested by the Head of Coaching to assist with coaching development.
  • Organise and manage a group of interns to help assist with filming when required.
  • Attend and support U18, U21 and First Team fixtures when available.
  • Keep abreast of new technology and methodology related to performance analysis to help build upon the current programme.
  • Contribute and attend accredited and non-accredited CPD programme.

Masters Degree

Complete a Master’s degree in Sports Coaching or Performance Analysis. You will utilise Fleetwood Town Football Club Academy data in order to answer a research question as part of your dissertation.

Qualifications

Completed an undergraduate degree in Sports Coaching or related discipline (Essential).

Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build strong working relationships (Essential)
  • Self-motivated, passionate, and able to use initiative (Essential)
  • Organised and able to work to deadlines (Essential)
  • Knowledge and experience using capture/coding software (SportsCode, HUDL, WyScout) (Desirable)
  • Computer competency with both Mac and Windows platforms (Desirable)
  • Ability to design interactive and engaging sessions that provide clear and concise feedback (Desirable)
