Job Summary:
Al Ain Football Club is seeking a highly skilled and experienced First Team Physiotherapist to join our medical team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in injury prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, and player recovery, ensuring that our first-team squad maintains peak physical performance throughout the season. The physiotherapist will work closely with the medical and sports science team to deliver evidence-based physiotherapy services that optimize player well-being and match availability.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Injury Prevention & Player Care
- Develop and implement injury prevention programs tailored to the specific needs of football players.
- Conduct musculoskeletal screenings and functional movement assessments to identify injury risks.
- Provide pre- and post-training/match physiotherapy treatments, including soft tissue therapy, taping, and joint mobilization.
- Assist in monitoring player workload to reduce overuse injuries and fatigue-related issues.
- Implement and manage warm-up and cooldown protocols to enhance player recovery.
2. Injury Assessment & Treatment
- Conduct thorough injury assessments and diagnose musculoskeletal injuries using clinical reasoning.
- Develop and implement personalized rehabilitation programs for injured players.
- Provide manual therapy, electrotherapy, and exercise-based rehabilitation to accelerate recovery.
- Work closely with medical staff to ensure safe and effective return-to-play strategies.
- Utilize advanced rehabilitation techniques such as hydrotherapy, cryotherapy, and biomechanical analysis.
3. Rehabilitation & Recovery
- Design and deliver progressive rehabilitation plans to facilitate full recovery from injuries.
- Monitor player response to treatment and adjust rehabilitation programs accordingly.
- Use evidence-based recovery techniques including compression therapy, stretching, and sports massage.
- Conduct return-to-sport fitness testing before allowing injured players to rejoin full training.
4. Matchday & Training Responsibilities
- Provide on-field emergency medical care and first aid for acute injuries during matches and training.
- Assist in the management of concussion protocols and player safety regulations.
- Support pre-match player preparation, including strapping, massage, and injury risk assessment.
- Work in close collaboration with coaches and medical staff to optimize player performance and readiness.
5. Medical Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain detailed and accurate medical records of all player injuries, treatments, and rehabilitation progress.
- Ensure compliance with FIFA, UAE Football Association, and club medical policies.
- Contribute to injury audits and reports for internal performance monitoring.
- Stay updated with latest advancements in sports physiotherapy, rehabilitation techniques, and medical guidelines.
6. Collaboration with Multi-Disciplinary Team
- Work alongside team doctors, sports scientists, strength & conditioning coaches, and nutritionists to provide holistic care.
- Participate in medical meetings to discuss injury status, rehabilitation progress, and player availability.
- Provide education and injury prevention guidance to players and coaching staff.
