Ealing Trailfinders is an ambitious and progressive, rugby union club based in West-London. The men’s side compete in the RFU Champ Rugby, and the Women are in the Premiership Women’s Rugby.
The Trailfinders Rugby Academy is based at Brunel University, West London.
The Academy’s aim is to produce world class talent through a dual elite rugby and academic journey.

THE ROLE

Work to provide a comprehensive, effective coaching programme and support structure for the men’s and men’s academy team.
Work across teams and projects as required.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with coaching seniors at Ealing Trailfinders, Trailfinders Rugby Academy at Brunel University and Ealing Trailfinders Elite Pathway (ETEP).
• Assist Forwards and Defence Coach and Scrum and Breakdown Coach with three senior team sessions per week.
• Team, units and individual coaching across all levels as directed by Director of Rugby and Academy Director, as well as guest sessions at partner schools.
• Work with Director of Player Personnel and Academy Director to identify high potential forwards at both Brunel University and ETEP.
• One-to-one sessions, tailored feedback and mentoring of smaller, elite groups of forwards at both Brunel University and ETEP.
• Management of transition forwards at the senior level, including one-to-one sessions, loan feedback and robust IDP process.
• IDP lead for shortlisted forwards at both Brunel University and ETEP.
• Game observation and feedback for elite U18s and university forwards, in coordination with Director of Player Personnel and Academy Director.
• Working with Academy Director and S&C lead to develop physical and technical objectives for all selected players.
• Support and work with other key members of the professional rugby management teams.
• Provide opinions and participate as required with the selection of teams.
• Continue to develop as a coach with regular CPD.
• Set a positive example as a leader of the program.
• To contribute positively to the team environment and culture.
• Be a strong consistent example of all the Club’s values and vision.

THE PERSON

EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Experience coaching forwards.
• Recent and relevant experience of coaching academy age players.

Desirable

• Experience working at all levels of the professional game.
• Experience of developing players who have gone on to play elite rugby.
• Performance coaching background.
• Lineout and breakdown specialism.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

• Level 3 Coaching Certificate.

SKILLSET

Essential

• Knowledge and understanding of player pathways.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain and present information clearly.

Desirable

• Driving licence and ability to attend games as requested.
