The Details:
- Full-time, 2-year contract.
- Based at Surrey Sports Park, GU2 7AD but will be required to travel nationally.
- Reports to the Medical Lead.
- Will be required to work regular weekends and some evenings.
The Responsibilities:
- To appropriately treat and rehabilitate injured players within the senior squad.
- Planning, documenting and delivering / co-ordinating individualised injury rehabilitation programmes.
- Work closely with coaches and other support staff to ensure the maintenance and/or return to fitness of injured players.
- Complete regular player screening and profiling to issue specific injury prevention education and rehab plans to players.
- Support the planning, documenting and delivering / co-ordinating individualised injury prevention programmes.
- Contribute as part of an inter-disciplinary sport science and medical team to facilitating world class player development and care.
- Within the rules of professional confidentiality liaise with athletes, coaches and other support staff.
- Maintain comprehensive medical notes utilising the RFU Kitman system.
- Attend the annual RFU medical immediate care in sport course.
- Promotion of anti-doping practices in line with IRB recommendations.
The Skills, Experience and Qualifications needed:
Essential
- BSc (Hons) Sports Rehabilitation or Sports Therapy with 18 months post graduate experience
- Member of the BASRaT or SST
- Have completed MSK placement within a sports team setting
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
- Well organised and able to prioritise.
- Strong relationship builder.
Desirable
- Post graduate MSK experience within sports team
- Experience working in professional/elite sport
- Completion of the RFU ICIS course level 2/3
- Trained in Acupuncture
